The temperatures are dropping and snow season is here! My whole family loves snow, skiing, snowboarding and more. Snow activities are one of the amazing winter activities you can do to keep fit and healthy as a family but you definitely need the right kit to take the family out for winter sports.
Here’s what’s important to me when I’m purchasing new clothing for winter activities and sports such as skiing and snowboarding:
- High quality performance clothing that will keep us dry, comfortable and safe
- Clothing from green and socially responsible companies
- Good value for money and clothes that will last
- Attractive modern trends
Protest Sportswear are a design-led sportswear company that provides both summer and winter clothing for men, women, children and toddlers. They’re a Dutch brand that’s been creating high quality sportswear since 1993 and offer high quality performance clothing that I’ve tried and tested out myself. It definitely gets my stamp of approval. They use many recycled materials, have an excellent green policy and offer excellent value.
I want to share some of the trends from the fashionable, function and affordable new Winter catalogue that I’m absolutely loving. If you decide to add any of this winter sportswear to your wardrobe, make sure you use the coupon welshmum10. This coupon, created for my readers, will give you a whopping 10% off everything until February 28th, 2021!
Women’s Trends

I love the colourful designs of some of the Ski jackets for women that are available, giving you the opportunity to really make a statement on the slope. As my favourite pick of this Winter’s women’s ski jackets I’ve gone with the Gaby Puffer anorak ski jacket in Dusty Pink, which goes perfect with the leopard print women’s ski trousers featured here, although would also give a statement look with a more muted pair of black as well.
If you’d rather wear black and whites, there are still many style choices you can make that look a little bit different, like the Angle 20 Softshell ski trousers featured below.

I’m also very pleased that many of the women’s items go from XS size to XXL size, giving a reasonable scope of sizes to suit. Some sportswear companies stop at a women’s large, which can be disappointing.
Men’s Trends

Bring a splash of colour to the ski slope with these Ski jackets for men whilst knowing you’re staying safe, warm and comfortable and you’ll need a pair of men’s ski trousers that are comfortable, flexible and protective to match.

My husband has been wearing the Protest Gravel Fleece Jacket – which is one of the many options of fleeces for men – and has been very impressed with the quality, comfort and how warm he’s been kept. The great advantage of buying good quality layers is that you don’t need to be skiing to get excellent use out of a fleece or lightweight jacket, meaning you can get use out of them all winter and stay warm whether you’re walking the dog or grabbing the snowboard.
You might be brave enough to take the kids – even toddlers – out into the snow too. I firmly believe that there’s no such thing as bad weather, only inappropriate clothing. Dressing kids up in something that’s warm and comfortable is extremely important for a day spent outside on the slopes. Layers are key to dressing kids for the winter and keeping kids warm. I’ve had my three year old in a fleece from Protest Sportswear for the last month giving me peace of mind that he’s snuggly and warm whilst also being lightweight and very easy to get him in and out of. You’ll know my struggle with bulky coats if you’ve got a little one!
I hope this blog post has excited you about your next winter sports trip. I’ll leave you with a few more images from Protest Sportswear to inspire you!
