Gifts for Her
Organize Your Jewellery
Jewellery stands are all the fashion for displaying your jewellery on your nightstand or dressing table. It allows you to keep everything organised and easily visualise what you plan to wear, whilst also having it on display as part of your room decor. This fantastic jewellery stand is available in classic oak and white, or a industrial black or a deep green with dark wood. The quality is extremely impressive.
Carrie Elspeth Jewellery
Jewellery is a classic and timeless gift, and I want to focus on this modern, hand-made jewellery brand – Carrie Elspeth. My necklace and earrings set are bright and colourful, they really pop and I’ve had loads of compliments when I’ve worn them. This is an independent brand that hand makes jewellery here in Wales, and a local touch is perfect for any woman who is wary of fast fashion. There’s a wide range of gemstone jewellery to choose from. I’ve actually just bought myself and my mother some jewellery from here, making it my top pick of gifts so far this year.
Hensol Castle Blood Orange Zest Gin
As you’ve seen so far in this gift guide, I love featuring local Welsh businesses wherever possible. I’ve been drinking Hensol Castle products for many years, but this year for the first time I had the opportunity to try their Blood Orange Zest Gin. This is super fresh with balanced citrus flavours, highly recommended for any gin fan. Last year their Judge Jenkins Spiced Rum was my drinks pick of the year as well!
Bath Salts from My Expert Midwife
If your Valentine’s day partner is pregnant or has given birth in the last year, treat her to something from My Expert Midwife. They formulate products specially for women who are pregnant, or have given birth – but I’ll be honest, I’ve used some of their products even though my son is six and they’re awesome for everyone! I recommend Soak for Bits, a natural blend of bath salts to offering soothing relief and to relax tired muscles. It contains premium Epsom salts, tea tree and calendula, Bergamot and Arnica, all associated with healing and well-being. Their products are also made in the UK, which I love to support.
A Beautiful Pamper Set
I love this wellbeing set, which comes in a lovely gift box with a vacuum insulated coffee tumbler, scented candle, hand-made soap, natural bath salts, bath bomb, and a dried flower card. And the best part of all is it’s currently on sale for only £15.99 so it’s perfect for someone on a budget, but certainly doesn’t look cheap and with over 300 five star reviews you don’t have to just take my word about the quality.
A Tasty Treat with Martin’s Chocolatier
My favourite chocolate brand is Martin’s Chocolatier who do a “Simply Loveable” collection which is perfect for Valentine’s day but also have other ranges such as “Weird and Wonderful” (my personal favourite) and “Marzipan and Praline”. If you haven’t tried them yet, the whole range is usually available on Amazon and they’re presented beautifully for a gift.
Gifts for Him
A great cup of Coffee with this Bean to Cup Machine
If you’re going big, then consider this De’Longhi Magnifica Bean to Cup Espresso and Cappuccino machine. Everyone in the family will love it, so it’s a sneaky gift you can get a lot of use out of yourself. It’s a thing of beauty creating barista quality coffee, including espresso and cappuccino in the comfort of your own home. This is my husband’s machine of choice and we’ve been using it for several years after I gifted it to him for Valentine’s Day, so it needed to be included as it’s still one of the top coffee machine on the market.
A quality tool with DeWALT Tools
If the man in your life is interested in DIY but hasn’t already got himself a good set of power tools, I’m going to recommend starting with the DeWalt Cordless Combi Drill Twin Pack. This is going to get used for every bit of DIY around the house, and although DeWALT isn’t the cheapest on the market, they are known for their incredible quality products. My husband uses this brand professionally at work so over a decade this is going to turn out to be extremely good value. This set comes with two Combi drills, one with an impact driver, 2 batteries and a 30 minute charger. The battery life is amazing but the quick charge means even if you forget to charge it, it’s not a big deal.
Gifts for Him and Her
His and Hers Silk Pyjamas
IDENTITY LINGERIE have a range of matching pjs that would be perfect for a Valentine’s Day Gift. These pyjamas are silky button ups that will be both sexy to wear and comfortable. This isn’t fast fashion either, this is a independent UK brand creating ethical handcrafted lingerie and nightwear, so you can feel very confident in their quality. They’re available in standard sizes of S up to XXL, but they also offer a custom sizing service, where they can make to your exact fit.
A Personal Gift with Max Spielmann
Max Spielmann offers a wide range of photo gifts and personalised gifts, from framed photo prints, posters and canvas prints to gifts like personalised mugs, glasses or even chopping boards. I have used them on several occasions for both photo prints and gifts and always been extremely happy with both the speed of delivery and the quality of the gifts. A personal gift really shows you’ve put thought into your partner and there’s something for him or her.
Answer This – A Couples Party Game
Sometimes when you’ve been in a relationship for a long time it can be hard to make a conversation that isn’t about family, the pets, the kids, the school or work. Have you ever felt that all your talks just end up on the same old things? I really like Answer This Couples Edition as an answer to this problem. This quiz battles you to know your partner best. It’s not just a conversation cards set, it’s a fun party game you can play together that can also trigger a lot of laughter and conversation. You can play it with up to 6 players, so can play it with other couples as well.
LEGO you can do together
Yes I’m recommended LEGO as a romantic adult gift because it’s awesome, and it’s definitely not just for kids. Lego has a range of Home Decor sets that you can build together and then display in your home. For example my favourite is the one from the photo above, the LEGO Orchid, but there are entire bouquets, roses, bonsai trees and more available to build. They’re all very reasonably priced too, with the Orchid having an RRP of £44.99 but being available at time of publication for just £34.99.
Spend time away together
Spending time together has to be the most valuable thing of all, so if you can arrange to get a bit of time away together, do it! Of course with kids and family commitments it’s not always that easy, so if you can’t plan a break away for Valentine’s itself, you could set the date later and have Valentine’s to look forward to it, or chat and plan it together. If you’re looking for something in South Wales, I can highly recommend Llanerch Vineyard for a very romantic night away, check out my review of a romantic overnight luxury stay and afternoon tea.
