Santa’s List (Or Not)

 The Simple Things

I was thinking about the theme of our list to Santa this year. William, who will be 8.5 months at Christmas obviously doesn’t have a clue about Santa yet. His wants are simple. Love, touch, warmth, safety, comfort, food, empty boxes, random junk, the wires for my computer, some lint off the floor… Does anything get any more simple and pure than the wishlist of a baby? Although I did put together a baby’s gift guide and I have wrapped him up a few things!

As for myself, if this year has taught me anything, it’s that the things I want in life aren’t corporeal. I want health, happiness, family, and friends. Of course, money and materials are fabulous, but as long as I’m comfortable with a roof over my head and food in my belly, this year has really made me appreciate what I have. Nothing like a brush with death and then the life-changing process of having kids to put everything else into perspective!

Santa can’t bring me anything that matters and I already have everything I need.

That being said, I am ogling the Cricut Air 2 for my crafting and creating, so I can’t claim to have completely given up my material lifestyle and I’m going to buy a sneaky lottery ticket because that would be nice too!

I’m sure in years to come when William is older and can actually enjoy his presents and will remember things, we’ll have long lists of wants to work through. As for now, sorry Santa, you’re out of a job!
