Personalised items are one of my favourite gifts to give to people. Personalising something in any way shows how much thought you’ve put into it, and gives a unique gift that really fits your gift recipient. Jewellery is something that I both love to give and receive, but you want to really put thought into it and find something that’s going to be cherished and worn. Enter Lily Blanche, a jewellery company that specializes in lockets and personalised jewellery, giving charming vintage designs a modern twist. Their designs are so unique and utterly beautiful, I had such a hard time choosing a piece to review.
For this review I chose a gift for my own mother for Mother’s Day. Mother’s Day is a really important occasion to me for two reasons. First, I was raised by a single mum and also by my grandmother and celebrating their love and support for me has always been super important. Second, if you follow my blog at all, you’ll know that I struggled with a long, difficulty fertility journey in order to be blessed with my only child. My identity as a mother and my journey into motherhood – a journey that’s still continuing and evolving every day – is a big part of my life. So Mother’s Day is just really important to me.
Whatever the occasion, whether you’re buying something as a treat to yourself, a gift to your mother or a daughter, sister or a friend, or a romantic gift for a birthday, Christmas or Valentine’s Day, I feel confident that you’ll find something that suits at Lily Blanche.

I went for this vintage Garnet Necklace in silver. My mother’s style is definitely more towards the vintage, but this locket also feels quite modern, and inside you can fit two photos. You can choose between different metals if silver isn’t your style, and there were different chain length options as well. This stunning heart locket game beautifully presented within a velvet bag, inside a ribboned gift box. The presentation was perfect, ready to be gifted to the lucky recipient. Delivery was super quick too so I didn’t have too long to wait in anticipation after ordering.

I’m really impressed by the quality of this necklace and also of the chain that goes with it. The two locket pictures were printed by Lily Blanche based on files I chose, which were William’s first birthday and his first day of school, both really important days.

For Mother’s Day we’ll also be going for a nice walk and eating out, somewhere child-friendly in Cardiff with an over zealous 4 year old in tow. It’ll be nice to get out for Mother’s Day this year after two years of eating at home, which doesn’t quite have the same celebratory feel, so it feels extra special this year in that regards. I’ll get her flowers and chocolate as well naturally, but this piece of jewellery will be something that I know she’ll cherish and love.
What do you think? Do you think my mum will love it? I feel very confident she will!
