Mother’s Day Gift Guide 2023

Mother’s Day in 2023 is on Sunday 19th March. If you’re looking for some gift ideas to tell the mum in your life – whether it’s your own mum, your grandmother, perhaps your wife who is the mother of your children, or even just a friend or role model who you want to celebrate and lift up for Mother’s Day – then this gift guide is going to help you. I hope you and your family have a wonderful day together or have a lovely chat on the phone if you’re far away, as nothing says I love you more than thinking of someone and spending time with them where possible.

I’ve also got two competitions for you to win, including an amazing night away and a delicious hot chocolate and coffee set. Scroll all the way to the bottom for your chance to win!

Please note that some of the items in this gift guide were sent to me in order for me to review them. Others are personal recommendations that I purchased myself. Amazon links will be an affiliate link.

Go on a Day Out and Spend the Night – Win this by scrolling to the end!

Red Letter Days offer some amazing experiences, from speedy thrills to relaxing spa days and everything in between. I’d like to highlight the Overnight Getaway for Two which is a multi-choice voucher giving you access a range of locations all across the UK. Whether it’s a city shopping trip, a forest-shrouded peaceful getaway, or a sand and sea filled coastal adventure, there’s something for everyone. I’m offering this gift as a competition prize if you scroll down to the bottom of the page.

Something for the Garden

If your mum has a garden then she most likely enjoys spending some time in it. One thing my mum love’s is encouraging wildlife into the garden, and being able to look at the window, see and hear the birds. To encourage birds into the garden a gift like a wildlife bird feeder would be a great gift, or perhaps this Gardman Daffodil Bird Bath will suit! It’ll have the birds flocking in. I think it’s so pretty – look how bright it is! – as well as being practical and very easily cleaned, and of course since I’m Welsh having a daffodil in the garden all year around seems particularly appropriate.

For the mum who spends time working in the garden I’d also like to recommend these Barst Long Gardening Gloves. They have a few designs available, but I love the blue bunny! These have leather hands and then a protective sleeve that covers the whole arm. For me this is really handy, as when I’m working on pruning and tidying up bushes and larger plants I can often get scratched or dirty arms. It’s so much better to have a sleeved glove on!

Spend the Weekend Together

I’ve already mentioned the idea of one night away, but you could also consider a full weekend together with Buy a Gift! Getting to spend time with family is an amazing experience. With the Getaway Experience Box you can choose from a selection of luxury stays all around the country – with 525 places to choose from there’s bound to be somewhere perfect for you both. If you’re considering vibrant Cardiff as a city, where I live, I’ve already got a guide to making the most of a weekend in Cardiff. Why not take your mum away somewhere for the weekend and get some really quality time together?

Beautiful Jewelry

Jewelry is always a popular Mother’s Day Gift. It gives your mum something that she can wear and look amazing in, that has wonderful memories attached to. I’d like to introduce Meideya Jewelry who offer a beautiful selection of rings, necklaces and bracelets. They have some really special and unique designs that I love and I’ve been really impressed with the quality and feel of the Meideya Jewelry that I own. I’ve got something really special to share with you, 25% off everything at Meideya Jewelry! Wow!

I am in love with this Star Charm Diffuser Bracelet from Boostology. Boostology are an independent retailer based on London who have some amazing unique and innovative gift ideas. This purple amethyst charm bracelet for example is made from natural Lava and purple Amethyst and comes with a bottle of pure essential oil blind which you dab onto the Lava stones from an instant lift. They sell a range of aromatherapy jewellery as well as beauty gift sets and lovely trinkets and keepsakes. What’s best of all is they are eco friendly and plant a tree for every order you make! Definitely worth checking out right now for your Mother’s Day Gift.

A Personalised Gift

I’m really impressed with the quality of the gifts I’ve received from VistaPrint – I’ve now had these amazing poster prints above of my son, as well as t-shirts and mugs from them. In fact I’m so impressed I’m going to be using them for my work prints in the future. But when it comes to Mother’s Day, I’m sure that mum would love to receive a photo gift, like a beautiful canvas picture of the family. There’s loads of personalised options so you’re definitely going to find something good.

Let Mum Relax

All mum’s need to relax and deserve to relax. Set the mood with a Made by Coopers ‘Calm’ Candle. This candle is guaranteed to relax everyone in the room with a calming blend of five essential oils. Made By Coopers have some awesome products, from candles, to body sprays and relaxing sleep scents, to my very favourite bath salts, which I use regularly.

Whilst she’s relaxing, you can’t go wrong with a good book. You might know from my previous posts what a massive reader I am, so if my family is out there sneakily reading this gift guide and wondering what I want – it’s definitely a book. The Folio Society have been offering beautifully illustrated hardcover prints of books for 75 years. Above is featured The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood which is certainly a book that will appeal to any mum interested in women’s rights, but they stock a massive range of amazing titles, so you should have no problem finding the perfect one. Check out The Folio Society’s Mother’s Day Gift List for some curated options!

A gift box from Sand and Sparkles will be perfect for any mum who needs a bit of relaxation and self-care – and let’s admit it, that’s all of us! Sand and Sparkles is an independent UK business that supports other local, independent businesses to share artisan products in their beautifully packaged gift boxes. I was lucky enough to experience the Vitamin Sea Box which contains a wonderful set of extremely relaxing products, including delicious chocolate, camomile tea, sleep oil, an ocean breeze candle and bath bomb. If this doesn’t feel like the right fit for your mum, there are many other boxes, including those tailored at gardeners, coffee lovers, chocolate lovers and more.

Food, Glorious Food

If your mum likes food then she most likely has quite a few kitchen appliances. But there’s always a new kitchen appliance out there which will make the perfect gift. I want to recommend this VonShef 750w Food Processor which comes with loads of handy attachments to chop, blend, juice and grate. I have tons of products in my house from VonShef (part of the VonHaus brand) and I’m always super impressed with the quality of their products whilst also being very affordable in price, in fact I’ve been using their stand mixer for all my cakes for five years now and we use their espresso machine at work! So I feel pretty confident that you’re going to find a gift that’s very happily received.

BeeHype is a fast-growing raw honey brand offering unique varieties and healthy alternatives. Imagine these strawberries preserved in raw acacia honey on top of granola and Greek yoghurt. Yes! That’s a breakfast fit for any mum. In addition to the amazing varieties above they sell a lot of other types of honey, including honeycomb, chilli honey, cacao honey, salted honey and more. These would make a fantastic gift, or part of a food hamper for mum. BeeHype is available at Selfridges&Co or you can buy BeeHype honey online through their website. There’s free shipping over £30, so add a cheeky jar or two for yourself as well!

If mum is the type to enjoy chocolates then Cadbury’s Gifts Direct have a ton of Mother’s Day Gift Boxes which will be perfect. They have ranges of chocolates, as well as options with bottles of Prosecco, red wine or white wine. These are also perfect gifts to have delivered direct to mum, as they come with a personalized gift card and a gift box, packaged really well.

Drink, Glorious Drink

This is my favourite mug. It’s absolutely adorable, sturdy and good to drink all sorts of hot drinks from. I mostly use it for hot chocolate, but whether your mum is a tea or coffee drinker, she’ll love it. And best of all it’s available on Amazon for less than £10, so perfect for a well thought out budget gift.

You could also pair this gift with a delicious coffee and hot chocolate gift set. With 9 different flavours of coffee and 9 flavours of hot chocolate, this is a lot of treats for mum! If you scroll down to the bottom of the page I also have a competition to win this coffee and hot chocolate gift set, which you can give to your mum… or just treat yourself.
