How to Put a Spring Back Into Your Step

When we hear the word Spring, the first thing we think about is flowers and sunny days. But for many people, Spring also means the end of Winter and a time to start putting their best foot forward. Flowers and sunshine are great, but what if you don’t feel like yourself? What if you just can’t seem to put that spring back into your step no matter how hard you try? The good news is that there are plenty of things that can help get your mojo back in full force! This post will give you some ideas on where to start so that you can get your life back on track this season.

#1 Make personal time a must

The number one thing you can do to put a spring back into your step is to make sure you’re taking time for yourself. This doesn’t mean that you have to lock yourself in your room and avoid everyone, but it does mean that you should carve out some time each day where it’s just about you. Whether that means reading a book, going for a walk, or spending time with friends and family, make sure to schedule some downtime each day.

It’s also important to be mindful of the way you’re spending your time outside of personal hours. Are there things you can cut back on or delegate so that you have more time for the things that matter most? It may not be easy but making personal time a priority is key to feeling your best.

#2 Reward yourself for hard work

We all know that exercise can be strenuous. It’s even harder when you don’t have someone to push you or if the thought of going for a run in -20 degree weather seems miserable. #3 Meditate

One of the best things you can do for yourself is to start meditating. This doesn’t have to be a religious or spiritual thing, simply sitting in silence and focusing on your breath can help clear your mind and make you feel more at ease overall. Meditation allows us to focus on the present moment and helps us learn how to control our thoughts instead of letting them control us. 

Not only does this lead to a more peaceful state of mind, but it has also been linked with better physical health! There are plenty of different ways to meditate, so find what works best for you and stick with it. You might want to try out an app like Headspace or Calm or find a group meditation class near you. The key here is to just do it!

#4 Watch less TV

One of the best ways to put a spring back into your step is by cutting down on time spent in front of the television. While it’s great for catching up with friends or binge-watching that show you’re obsessed with, too much TV can actually lead to sleep problems and depression.

This doesn’t mean that you should never watch tv again (although if this is possible, then good for you!), but taking some time away from the boob tube will help strengthen your resolve when faced with temptation later. You’ll be surprised by how much more productive you are once given the opportunity to spend less time doing things like watching Netflix! And remember, no one ever regretted not having enough space on their schedule, so always activities instead.

#5 Spend more time in nature `

Spending time in nature has been linked with all sorts of benefits, from reducing stress levels to improving mental health overall. This is likely due to the fact that being outside helps us connect with our surroundings and releases negative energy.

If you’re not able to get out into nature as often as you’d like, there are plenty of ways to bring it inside. Try incorporating plants into your home decor, or spend some time taking a walk around your neighbourhood each weekend. No matter what, find ways to reconnect with the world around you and see how much better you feel for it!
