Happy New Year to all my family, friends, fellow bloggers and readers. 2019 was an interesting year for me, with lots of ups and downs. On the negative side, I’ve been struggling with ongoing complicated health issues, which have impacted my life and my mental health as well. As I start the new year I feel in limbo with my health, awaiting appointments for several tests and a new consultant. It’s scary and frustrating, but I have to try and not let it affect my anxiety and mood. In 2019 my son came on in leaps and bounds and is no longer in need of speech and language therapy and makes me smile every single day. My marriage is good and I’m lucky to have some incredible family and friends around to support me. We moved into our forever home just before Christmas so it’s still very new. I look around and feel incredibly lucky and grateful to have a beautiful family home of our own after 16 years of renting – yes, 16 years!
In 2019 my blog went from strength to strength and I’m humbled by the followers and comments I’ve had. I’ve had some wonderful opportunities to work with great brands and travel to a few new places too. I also managed to complete Nanowrimo (write 50,000 words in November on a fiction project) for the first time and feel hopeful about the future possibility of publishing a full length novel.
Last night I welcomed in the new year in chilled out style with a few friends in my home, playing video games, eating party food and chatting the night away. Despite my health worries, I’m feeling really positive about 2020 and indeed, the entire next decade!
