Easter Sunday 2023 is on the 9th April. I’ve compiled events happening in Cardiff and around South Wales (all within 1 hour drive of Cardiff). This guide is currently being updated for 2023! Please bookmark and visit or follow on Facebook for updates.

Funderworld, Durdham Downs, Bristol (1st March – 1st May 2023)
Funderworld is open for two months and although it’s not in Wales, it’s only an hours drive from Cardiff. It’s an opportunity to visit a travelling funfair with over 15 rides and unlimited rides wristbands – making it more economical for a full days fun. Spring Safari Trail at Red Dragon Center, Cardiff Bay (30th March – 16th April)
The Red Dragon Centre, where you can find amusements, bowling, restaurants and an Odeon IMAX cinema, is hosting a free spring safari trail which involves finding all the grass sculptures and collector letters. Easter at The Meadows Farm Village, Caerphilly (1st – 16th April 2023)
“This year we have a fun packed Easter to deliver with Mascot Characters including the Easter Bunny, Paw Patrol and Toy Story on rotation during each day. Each ticket includes general farm entry and the chance to complete our Easter hunt trail.” Find tickets and more information here.
Easter at Dyffryn Gardens (1st – 11th April 2023)
“Join us for some Easter fun at Dyffryn, with ten activities to get the family active and creative outside. Whether you dress up like a baby animal, put your nose to the test to guess the spring smells, or challenge each other to some Easter games, there will be plenty of fun to be had at Dyffryn this Easter.” Visit Dyffryn Gardens for more information. Easter Fun at Caerphilly Castle (1st – 16th April 2023)
There will be Easter Activities over Easter Weekend at Caerphilly Castle including Easter Egg Hunt and card-making. More details.
Easter Extravaganza at Castell Coch (1st – 16th April 2023)
Easter trail with a chocolate prize, card decorating, storytelling and face painting at Castell Coch this Easter. More details.
Easter Eggstravaganza at Gower Fresh Christmas Trees (1st – 10th April 2023)
You can buy tickets and get more information for the Easter eggstravaganza 2023. There will be an Easy Bunny Show, Crazy character game garden, Easter egg hunt, Will’s Petting Zoo, Mini Funfair and more!
Easter Eggsplorers at Wild Place Project, Bristol (1st – 16th April 2023)
Visit Wild Place Project this Easter to enjoy an Easter trail packed with eggcellent animal facts! This is on top of all the amazing animals, feeds, talks and playgrounds that are available.
Spring Fun at Mermaid Quay (1st – 16th April 2023)
Between 1st and 16th April there is a free trail located around Mermaid Quay, searching for painted windows which link to spring facts. There’s a prize draw for those who find them all. Easter at IKEA, Cardiff (1st – 16th April 2023)
Ikea Cardiff have a variety of free events running, from an Easter Egg Hunt, Eggorating competitions and Easter wreath making. The wreath making requires booking. For more information visit IKEA Cardiff.
Big Easter Event 2023 at Amelia Trust Farm, Barry (3rd – 6th April 2023)
“From Monday 3rd April until Thursday 6th April we’ll have an Easter extravaganza at Amelia Trust Farm. As well as the chance to see our animals, enjoy the woodland, and play in the park, there will be a chocolate prize for all children who complete our Easter trail, free face painting, free tractor rides and lawn games for you to enjoy!” Buy tickets or find more information here.
Easter Events at Mumbles Pier, Mumbles, Gower (3rd – 9th April 2023)
There are various events running at Mumbles Pier which you can book online. Includes events such as Visit the Bunny Burrow, Afternoon Tea and Bunny Visit, Easter Egg Adventures, Easter Egg Beach Hunt, Magical Dance Party and more.
Easter Duck Trails at Roman Baths, Newport (3rd April 2023)
Take part in the East Duck Trails around the Newport Roman Baths to win a chocolate treat. More information.
Dinosaur Discovery Trail at St David’s Dewi Sant, Cardiff (3rd – 16th April 2023)
15 dinosaurs made of half a million toy bricks are going to be on display at St David’s Dewi Sant. This is a free trail that took builders over 3000 hours to create, and is bound to be loved by the family! For more information visit Dino Discovery Trail.
Easter Chocolate Workshops at The Royal Mint Experience, Llantrisant (3rd & 4th April)

Science Made Simple Working at The Royal Mint Experience, Llantrisant (3rd & 4th April)

Easter Bunny Breakfast at Dobbies Garden Centre, Swansea (6th – 8th and 10th April 2023)
Visit Dobbies Swansea to hop around the store with the Easter Bunny for some fun and games. Plant your own miniature carrots and receive an Easter Egg Gift. Then both children and adults can enjoy a breakfast. Dobbies also has a soft play (booked separate). More information at Dobbies.
Easter Craft Workshops at Larkdesignmake, Cathays (6th, 11th, 12th, 13th April 2023)
Larkdesignmake is a craft studio in Cathays that offers loads of amazing workshops across a massive array of crafts. In the Easter holidays they’ll be running four different workshops aimed specifically at children between the ages of 8 – 12 including:

The Big Museum Easter Trail at National Museum Cardiff, St Fagans Museum, National Waterfront Museum, Big Pit National Coal Museum (7th – 10th April 2023)

Easter Egg Hunt at Cardiff Riding School (7th & 8th April 2023)
The Friends of Cardiff Riding School have organized an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th April. Follow the clues and meet the ponies to be rewarded with an egg! Tickets must be booked in advance.
Tretower’s Easter Egg Hunt at Tretower Court and Castle (8th – 10th April 2023)
“Gladys the Tretower Hen needs your help: one of her naughty chicks has hidden all her eggs, can you find them for her and reveal the name of the trickster? Tasty rewards for those that can!” More information.

Mad Hatters Easter Tea Party at The Aubrey Arms, Bonvilston, A48 (8th April 2023)

Children’s Easter Party at The Green Lady, Caerphilly (8th April 2023)

Easter Bunny Party at The CLUB, Aberaman (8th April 2023)
The CLUB is a hireable party venue in Aberaman, which is about 30-40 minutes drive north of Cardiff. They are hosting an Easter party which includes arts and crafts, a bouncy castle, disco lights and music, visit from the Easter Bunny and a chocolate egg. More information on Facebook.
Bounce & Breakfast with the Easter Bunny at Limitless Inflata Park, Swansea (9th April 2023)
Limitless is a large trampoline park located on the east side of Swansea, about 40 minutes from Central Cardiff. They’ll be hosting a special easter themed bounce session which includes one hour of bouncing, a children’s breakfast, meet the Easter Bunny, and receive an Easter Egg for every child. Ooo lots of cool stuff happening for spring & Easter! I had no idea there was ever or would ever be abseiling down the Millennium Centre. Not sure I have the stomach for something like that but I love the idea of it (or at least watching others have a go)!
