I’m really looking forward to Christmas this year and have already started planning all the gifts I’ll be buying for family and friends. This gift guide is designed to provide gifts that are suitable for any loved ones, whether you’re buying for a partner, your mum or dad, brother, sister or just a close friend. If you’re looking to buy gifts for younger family members, I’ve also put together two Christmas Gift Guides to help you, there’s one for preschoolers, that’s age 0-4, and another for primary schoolers, that’s age 5-10.
Some of these items were provided to me free of charge to evaluate and decide if I wanted to include them, many of these items I have purchased myself as gifts for other people at full price. Some of the links in this guide are affiliate links.
Coffee Maker and Coffee

Everyone needs coffee. It’s just a fact. I’ve had the De’Longhi Magnifica Bean to Cup Espresso and Cappuccino Machine for two years now after buying it for my husband. It’s used every single day. Although this is a big buy as a gift, it’s worth the money for any coffee lover and it remains one of the highest reviewed coffee makers on Amazon, so it’s not just me who thinks so!
For coffee, I’m supporting local businesses this year and have purchased the Hard Lines Coffee Brew Pack – a selection of four of their coffees, available whole-bean or ground to preference. This is a local Cardiff coffee company but they post out UK wide. I’ve bought this as a gift for my mother in law who loves coffee, but it would suit absolutely any coffee fan.
Keep Warm and Cosy this Winter

You can’t go wrong with a new pair of Slippers. I love slipping into brand new nightwear at Christmas and it’s something that’s practical and suitable for any family member or friend. This year Christmas just got cosier with Bedroom Athletics. They have some fluffy, comfy and stylish options this year, from slingbacks to boots. I love this pair of McQueen Slipper Boots, priced at just £30. This will keep all the warmth in, guaranteed!

For some vegan family members this year I’ve purchased these vegan friendly warm winter bamboo socks on Etsy. They come in a variety of colours making them suitable for men or women, and in addition to knowing that no animal products were used, even in the inks, for every pair of socks that is sold, another is given to the homeless!

When the nights get really chilly, having a warm bed is crucial to a good night’s sleep and nothing helps me sleep better than the scent of lavender too. Chilcott are a local Welsh business based in the Brecon Beacons. They run a farm that focuses on natural fragrances, such as lavender and rosemary. They have a wide range of products that would make fantastic gifts, but my recommendation this year is the Alpaca Super Soft Hot Water Bottle. It’s made from super soft Alpaca and lined with soft British Wool, with a pocket of Chilcott Lavender which will provide a very relaxing scent as you drift of to sleep cosily.
Swimming accessories

Swimming is a very accessible exercise for everyone – and when January comes and the Christmas excess is over, many people will be thinking about how they can improve their health and fitness levels. Some high quality swimming accessories will give them the motivation to get in the pool, plus swimming is amazing fun. In the above photo you’ll see my recommendation for a full swim package, with a Halocline towel robe, swimming goggles and towel. The towel robe is amazingly warm and snuggly whilst also getting you dry very quickly and as a parent who has to get a child dried and ready first it’s so convenient to pop it on dry off whilst I’m getting him dressed.
Bonus! If you place an order through this link or use the code WELSHMUM at checkout, you’ll get 10% off!
A Gift of Food

The hallmark of any Christmas is delicious food. Meera’s Made From Scratch makes amazing food that is dairy and gluten free – ideal for people with allergies or intolerances, but so delicious you can give them to anyone. As you may know, I’m gluten free, but my family isn’t, and I love getting food that we can all eat without me having to worry about intolerances. Meera sells a variety of teas, savory food, snacks, sauces and spice blends, soups and gifts, with 3 or 5 item Christmas Gift boxes where you can customize the items to suit the recipient. I tried mini mince pies, rosemary biscuits, mushroom pate and chicken pate. All were absolutely delicious.
If you’re looking for something to satisfy a sweet tooth, there’s also some amazing Christmas Hampers from Gift Hampers UK. I’ve also had the opportunity to review one of their celebration gifts separately, and have been very impressed with them so far.

Personalised Jewelry

Personalised jewelry makes a wonderful gift for any female family member at Christmas. It creates memories and really shows how much thought you’ve put into a gift. LOVELOX offer many personalised silver lockets such as the one I created. It has my husband and son’s name engraved on the outside, and inside, it includes two pictures of them both. How amazing a gift is that?

My other recommendation is a personalised bracelet from Engravers Guild such as this beautiful pink personalised friendship bracelet with a silver disc. This could be personalised with the name of the recipient – in my case, I’ve gone for my own name – or with the name of a loved one or best friend. Buying matching ones with your bestie would be so much fun. Both of these products have perfect quality engraving and beautiful gift boxes. They would be the perfect gift for your partner, mum, sister or friend this Christmas.
A Very Merry Gift

Pull the Pin spirits will make a very merry gift and they offer a variety of spiced and flavoured rum as well as gin. The bottles are bright and really eye catching, with their unique ringpull top design, but most importantly, they’re absolutely delicious. These will make an ideal gift for anyone who enjoys a tipple at Christmas.
A Hot and Cold Bottle for Everything

Whether you’re looking to keep a drink cold in the summer or coffee or soup warm in the winter, I highly recommend a Hapi Bottle. Available in a wide variety of colours and multiple sizes, they’re easy to open with one hand, leak free and perfect to drink from!
Something for the Kitchen

What type of cuisine does your gift recipient like? Do they enjoy trying new things or looking at food from around the world? There are some Christmas Gift Sets at Sous Chef that will appeal to anyone who enjoys cooking or eating food. For example I’m featuring the Japanese Ramen Bowl Set. It comes with two beautiful ramen bowls, ladles, and a set of recipes to get you started. But if this isn’t the perfect gift for you, there’s a wide range of gifts and food so you’re bound to find something for your family member. I’ve always enjoyed shopping at Sous Chef, they offer food and culinary gifts that are excellent quality at very affordable prices.
A Beautiful Cushion

A beautiful cushion will be the perfect addition to any home decor theme, whether it’s for the bedroom, the living room, conservatory or anywhere else in the home. Luxe 39 offer over 100 colour choices and 9 unique sizes, so you’re bound to find the perfect gift, such as the cushion in the picture, which is blush pink velvet and grey.
A gift for nature lovers

If your gift recipient loves nature, then Henry Bell has you covered with some wonderful wild bird products, such as this Grand Sterling Bird Feeder, which has enough space for all the birds in the garden to enjoy. They also sell other products that are both lovely to look at, and practical for your garden visitors. You can buy their products on https://www.food4wildbirds.co.uk/ along with a wide variety of other garden gifts.
Give the Gift of Crafting
There’s something so satisfying about crafting, but it can be overwhelming to know where to begin. Getting a kit that a beginner can do can be a great way of letting someone explore a new craft in an easy and fun way. I’ve got a few suggestions for you for craft gifts for adults.

Craftiosity provide a subscription to craft kits that are beautiful and unusual. I got hands on with their Embroidered Moon Tea Towel kit. It taught me the basics and allowed me to create a beautiful tea towel.

Diamond painting has really taken off over the last few years. This allows you to create beautiful images using small individual “diamonds”. They’re very inexpensive too, with kits starting from just £5 with the above stunningly colourful tree kit being just £6 at the time of publication.

My final recommendation is soap making. It’s so satisfying making your own soaps, and you can infuse them with your favourite personal scents or products. This small kit is basic but will give someone an idea as to whether they want to pursue this as a hobby, and makes an inexpensive and unique gift.
I hope that this gift guide has given you some ideas!
