This time of year I’m always looking for things that will make good gifts for babies and toddlers that I can recommend to my friends. One thing every parent does with their child from newborn up is give them regular baths. Some kids hate it, some love it – I feel I’m pretty lucky with William as he has absolutely loved bath time since he was a newborn. In fact, every single night he tries to climb into the bath by himself. In our family daddy does the bath time and I think that’s a good way for them to relax and bond together after my husband gets home from work, and for me to do the dishes and put my feet up after dinner. I do all the shopping for bath products though!
When Nat-ul contacted me and asked if I’d be willing to review their Sylveco Baby Care Set, I was interested to find out more. William has quite sensitive skin and can be prone to very dry skin and mild eczema which I’m told is the case for a lot of babies and toddlers, so first things first I had to look at the ingredients, but the fact that Nat-ul is a cruelty free independent business that supplies natural products was a pretty good start. The set is dermatologically tested, fragrance free, hypoallergenic, safe for children from either newborn or one month old depending on the product and contains natural ingredients, so I said yes please!
The bottles are really cute designs and the entire package comes in a gift package that would be easy to wrap and the bag is biodegradable so this packaging is also good for the environment! My first impression of the Sylveco Baby Care Set is that this is something that I’d be delighted to open as a gift and I wish someone had given me this when William was a newborn as it contains everything you need for baby bath time (or in fact, any age as there’s no reason older children or even adults wouldn’t want to use it too!)
The set comes with four different products – moisturising cream for face and body, baby shampoo and body wash, baby oil and soothing baby powder. The baby oil is particularly good for those with dry skin as it contains betulin (from birch trees) and beeswax, whilst we found the baby shampoo and body wash had a lovely delicate fragrance (it’s fragrance free but contains essential oil of clary sage) and washed really well. I’ll be honest, I wasn’t sure what betulin was, so I tried to research it a little and it seems like there’s not masses of information out there about it, but what I did read was positive, and it has been used consistently in cosmetics for over twenty years.
William had no problem with getting the baby shampoo in his face, so it passed the no-tears test and you only need a small amount to wash with. Something I’ve noticed about baby skin is it dries out really easily, so I think using a moisturising cream is really important, especially for kids like mine who have sensitive skin and this baby oil takes moisturising to pretty epic levels. Finally the powder is an excellent addition to the set and perfect for little bottoms that need to be kept extra dry. I’d recommend this to anyone buying a gift for a baby shower, newborn celebration, first birthday or Christmas.
The set is available now from Nat-ul for £26 and that includes free delivery within the UK. They also stock a wide range of beauty products for kids and adults with natural ingredients, so give yourself a little treat whilst you’re there too!
Note I was sent a gift set free of charge to review, opinion, words and photos are my own.

This looks like a lovely gift set. I love the pictures of your little one in the bath. So peaceful.
I love the look of this set so I might get it for my friend who has a little girl due in February.
