Thinking of what to buy your dad, grandfather or a man in your life this year for Christmas? Look no further, I’ve collated some ideas that I think most dads would be very happy to receive as a present. Let me know what you’re thinking of buying in the comments, or if you’re a man who’s stumbled upon this, hoping to leave it open or send it on hint hint to someone shopping for you, what’s your perfect Christmas gift?
A Unique Christmas Gift Subscription
Summerton Club is a premium spirits subscription box which sends out a fantastic aged bottle to their members every month. They were started after the founder was looking for this sort of subscription as a gift for his own dad, and realized there wasn’t really anything on the market. This is a great gift for someone who is difficult to buy for and absolutely ideal for those who enjoy drinking spirits, as the bottles are often unobtainable in this country and definitely something you’ll not find in the supermarket! The founder Daniel Humphrey sent me a bottle of a wonderfully smooth limited edition Swedish Single Malt Whisky which was in the October box and he definitely knows how to pick out a good bottle!
A Gift of Coffee
Staying on the theme of drinking, this Coffees of the World Gift Set offers a selection of 9 individual boxes of ground coffee, each from a different part of the world with a distinct taste. There are light, light medium, medium, medium dark and dark roasts included, so a real range. I’ve bought this box for my father in law in the past and it was well received! I always find something excellent in Whittard for Christmas Gifts.
After Dinner Gifts – Cheese
To couple with an after dinner coffee, how about some amazing cheese? I highly recommend Snowdonia Cheese which is made here in Wales. With 11 distinct flavours, these wax covered truckles would make an excellent small gift or coupled up with the cheese board below for something special. You can buy all of their range on their website in 200g, 400g or 3kg (wow!!) sizes but they’re also stocked locally by delicatessen’s and farm shops.
A stylish yet functional cheeseboard
If you’re wondering what I’ve displayed my yummy Snowdonia Cheese on in the above photo, it’s this magnificent VonShef Round Cheese Board & Knife set. I love the contrast of the acacia wood and the slate serving board, and it cleverly slides open to reveal a set of tools underneath. It’s just the right size to serve cheese to a small gathering and the design of the hidden tray is both practical and unique. Pair it with a selection of Snowdonia Cheese Truckles and a nice bottle of wine for a gift that would be well appreciated by most!
A Sweet Treat
To round off my food and drink suggestions is this
Wallet Gift Set
Quadcopter’s aren’t just toys for boys, they’re toys for big boys too! If the man you’re buying for is the type to enjoy a gadget or a gizmo then this might be the thing for him. We fly ours down the beach when it’s not too windy and have gotten some amazing views with it. DBPower’s UDI U818A (that sounds technical!) has WiFi and a camera that connects to your phone via an app, so you can take video and photos whilst you fly, how cool is that?
Send out those thrill’s with the Driving Smartbox – that’s over 460 different driving experiences which can be taken by one or two people, located all around the country. This is ideal if you want to give an experience to someone who perhaps already has a lot of material items and doesn’t have space for more things, but want to give them the choice of exactly what they do! It’s nice to get a gift experience that comes with a proper wrappable gift box too, as it means you can pop it under the tree.
